Composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist, Pascal Miousse is one of the most accomplished fiddlers and guitarists of his generation. Equally at ease on the fiddle and lead guitar, he is a virtuoso of melodic improvisation and pure energy, captivating listeners with his unforgettable musical presence. His unique fiddle bowing style is rooted in the tradition of the Magdalen Islands, his homeland, but Miousse adds contemporary mastery to his approach and execution.
The son of a guitarist, Pascal’s home was a gathering place for traditional musicians. After mastering classical and regional musical traditions at a young age, Pascal left his remote island and traveled to the mainland in search of other musical forms. Soon after, he was touring as a multi-instrumentalist and singer with various national Canadian acts, exploring a wide range of genres from traditional folk to swing, rock, soul, and blues. He has been part of his group Vishtèn for over 20 years and tours internationally, showcasing both traditional and contemporary Acadian music.
